Mathilda's Market

An amazing day for ELF Dreams.  The sunshine was a nice change from the wintery days we have been experiencing and the atmosphere created by Robyn added to the market experience.

It is always wonderful to catch up with the lovely ladies, Sonia from Sunday's Child and Courtney from Silver Nutmeg and a Golden Pear.  Two amazing and very talented Tasmanian ladies who produce gorgeous, high quality garments.  It is always an immense pleasure to spend a day with them at the markets.

Today we launched our new 'clip-art', which was a wonderful success.  Meg's design encompassing the 'hair band/scrunchie' holder was well received.

The Aprons were one of the 'hot' items of the day, I am positive there are some young aspiring 'master chefs' out there who are going to get many hours of pleasure helping mum and dad in the kitchen.

ELF Dreams The Skirt (Reversible) and The Pinafore (Reversible) remain the pride of our core range and it was gratifying to see many return customers purchase today and we delighted in seeing one of our favourite pinnis make an appearance today on a beautiful little girl.

ELF Dreams will be next appearing at Niche Market in August, for all details please see the link provided for and hopefully at the Christmas in Winter Barn Market, we will confirm once placements have been finalised by Helen and Miriam.

Thank you everyone for a wonderful day.

Please note that when we post fabrics on our blog, we will take orders if you have a preference of fabric and size.  We only order small quantities to ensure individuality of garments.  So get in quick and contact us if you see something you would like made up into a pinafore, skirt or longs.

Warm regards
Cherie and Meg

Handmade Market

Another lovely handmade market this weekend.  A beautiful autumn weekend, with plenty of great conversation.  A big thank you to Penni, Sue and Marg who put a lot time and effort into creating such a charming market.

Our sincere apologies to customer who may have come looking for us on Sunday.  Sadly we were unable to fulfil our commitment of the two days.  However I am sure that you would have been enthralled by the other stallholders.
We look forward to seeing you next at Mathilda's market, Saturday 17 July.

The Market and What Women Want

The launch of our new reversible aprons was a wonderful success.  It is always pleasing to offer clients new products and a unisex line.  For those of you who missed out we will have more on offer at the upcoming Handmade Market 15 and 16 May.

An exciting and frantic day for Meg and myself, not sure we will opt to do a market and function on the one day again.  The market never fails to disappoint and we had many new customers and return clients, which is always pleasing.  The atmosphere created by Holly and Shannon is always warm and welcoming at the Masonic Temple.

I felt extremely envious of the women at the Make a Wish Foundation Fundraiser - "What Women Want" at Moorilla, the wine and high tea looked absolutely devine and I could have easily gone and indulged in having my hair styled and a manicure.  Most importantly it was great to be a part of and see funds being raised for the fantastic work the Make a Wish Foundation do.

On another note it was lovely to catch up and have a chat with our fellow stall holders. With the emotion of the afternoon and the impact of hearing some of the stories from the Make a Wish Foundation, it brings me to make mention of a quote from a book I am currently reading;

"May we always support one another and wish each other greatness."

Overall it was a very successful and enjoyable day.

A Lovely Email

It is always wonderful to receive feedback from our customers and we wanted to share this one. . . . .

Hi there, my name is Vanessa and I bought two beautiful pieces (skirt and dress) from you last week at the Barn Market. The items were a big hit the next day at the Christening and I already have 2 friends who want to come down south in June to see your stall. I had been talking to you about the babushka material, how funny that my friend was the one who bought the one and only skirt on Saturday!! I am very interested in some more items, mainly the babushka material in either skirt or dress. Size 2,3 or 4. If you have time, could you please let me know what you may still have available.
Well done on your designs, they looked just gorgeous on the girls and I am extremely pleased and proud to support Tassie made.
Kindest Regards,
Vanessa, Heidi and Lucy Bester.xxx

The Barn Market Saturday 10 April 2010

A Magnificent Day

ELF Dreams positioned themselves outside at the risk of the elements.

Thankfully the weather was lovely and we enjoyed the sunshine and enticing smells from the coffee van and barbeque.

We knew the Babushkas would be popular and our first sale of the day was a Babushka skirt.

For clients today who missed out, don't be disappointed there will be more Babushkas available within the next fortnight.  And due to the success of sales today we will have an even wider variety of fabrics available in the skirts (reversible) and the pinafores (reversible).

The Longs have made one of their last appearances, they will be retiring for the cooler months, however will be available on request for those of us with friends and relations in the warmer climates of Australia and abroad.

The Beanie Bags were as popular as ever today.  We will ensure we have plentiful stocks available at our next market for those of you who missed out today.

A friendly reminder to our customers today who purchased these for an alternate use as a heat bag to make sure that you place a cup of water in the microwave with the wheat bag when you heat it to stop the wheat from burning.

It is always wonderful to meet new stallholders and customers, we had a wonderful day, the venue is perfect and the organisers, Helen and Miriam are truely awesome, thank you for all the time, effort and professionalism that you put into making what is shaping up to be one of Hobart's most prestigious markets.
